Mkombozi Commercial bank remembers Kagera earthquake victims

October, 2016: Mkombozi Commercial bank Plc has donated one hundred iron sheets(100)  and two hundred  bags of cement(200) to victims of the recent earthquake that struck Kagera Region.
The donation is meant to assist in rebuilding and repairing houses that were destroyed during the disaster that claimed over 15 lives and left scores of people injured.
The Mkombozi  Commercial bank Chairman of the Board;Mr. Method A. Kashonda  said they were deeply touched by the disaster and decided to join hands with other Tanzanians in helping the victims so they can revert to their normal lives.
“This is a very sad and emotional incident especially for those who lost their loved ones in the earthquake, we pray that God will comfort them and we will together with the government help the survivors in recovering,” he said.
He said them at the bank were also directly affected as some of their staff in the Bukoba branch were in one way or another traumatized by the incident. “This issue affects all of us as a nation and should not just be left to Kagera residents because it could also happen anywhere else,” he said.
Receiving the donation, the Kagera Regional Commissioner, Major General (rtd) Salum Kijuu thanked Mkombozi Commercial bank for the warm gesture and said the donation would be combined with others so it can assist the victims.
“A lot is still needed to help the victims but we thank you for responding so fast and uniting with other Tanzanians in helping the victims,” he said.
Mkombozi Commercial bank staff also took time to visit some of the areas that were affected by the earthquake and paid homage to some of the victims to console them.
Mkombozi Commercial bank Plc (MKCB) was established in 2009 by Roman Catholic Church Dioceses and its institutions as a local initiative to support the emerging small medium and large Tanzanian businesses for provision of financial services.
In order to strengthen the financial position of the bank, the founder members invited local businesspeople and investors to join hands with them.

Mkombozi bank donates desks to Kagera school
October, 2016: Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc, wihch is one of the fastest growing banks in Tanzania, has donated one hundred desks (100) to Ngarama Primary School following President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli’s call for well wishers and institutions to donate desks to schools.
The desks were handed over by the bank’s Managing Director, Mrs. Edwina A. Lupembe during a function held at the school and was also attended by the Kagera Regional Commissioner, Major General (rtd), Salum Kijuu who received the donation.
The MD said they were deeply touched by the desks issue and thought they should also chip in so as to ensure students have a proper learning atmosphere.
“We at Mkombozi Commercial bank value education and support government’s efforts and initiatives especially this desks campaign. Previously we heard of incidents where students sat on the floor,” she said.
She appealed to the school administration to ensure that the desks are put into proper use so they can benefit as many students as possible and also called on students to work extra hard as they would now study in a good environment.
She said in addition to giving back to the community, the bank has also been introducing various products that aim at assisting low income people and the most recent product is the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) loans.
“We launched this product recently and I want to make a special appeal to parents and teachers to join various saccos and self-help groups which will assist them to access these NHIF loans from Mkombozi Commercial bank,” she said adding that this will be a big relief as most students will now get medical treatment through their parents’ insurance.
She called on Kagera residents to visit the Mkombozi Commercial bank ;Bukoba Branch where they will get more details about the NHIF loans product.
She also appealed to parents to open for their children the student’s account, which is among special products offered by her bank.
Speaking during the function, the Kagera RC thanked the bank for the warm gesture and said it will really fill the gap.
“This is really encouraging as it tells us that the call by our president has been well received and it is a clear indication that we all have the same vision of ensuring that our children get a conducive learning atmosphere,” he said.
He appealed to students and teachers to ensure they excel in exams so as to pay back the favor that was extended to them through the donation.

Benki ya Mkombozi imefungua tawi mkoa wa Kagera, Desemba 15, 2015. Tawi hilo lilizinduliliwa na Askofu wa Jimbo la Bukoba, Mhashamu Desiderius Rwomo.

 

Hii ni fursa kwa wakazi mjini Bukoba na mkoa wa Kagera kwa ujumla kufaidi huduma zinazotolewa na banki hii inayokua kwa kasi.

 

Miongoni mwa fursa hizo ni mikopo ya wajasiriamali wadogo na wakubwa, mikopo ya kampuni, mikopo ya wafanyakazi, ufunguaji wa akaunti za akiba na za muda maalumu.

 

Ni fursa pia kwa wakazi wa Kagera kuimiliki benki hii kwa kununua hisa ili kufaidi gawio la faida kulingana na biashara ya benki hii.

 

Benki ya Mkombozi imeanza kufungua matawi maeneo mbalimbali baada ya Benki Kuu ya Tanzania (BoT) kuridhika na namna inavyojiendesha na kuinua uchumi wa nchi.

 

Ni Benki iliyoanza kufanya kazi nchini Agosti 28, 2009 ikiwa na tawi moja la St. Joseph lililopo Potsa ya zamani  kitalu namba 40, mtaa wa Mansfield. Tangu kuanza kwake, Benki imekuwa ikifanya kazi kwa ufanisi wa hali ya juu.

 

Mpaka sasa ina matawi  sita  nchini. Matawi mengine yapo Mwanza, Moshi, Msimbazi Centre  na Kariakoo.

 

Kwa kuwa ukuaji wa Benki kwa sasa ni mzuri ni fursa kwa wakazi wa mkoa wa Kagera, kushiriki katika kufurahia matunda ya benki hii kwa kuangalia ni kwa namna gani wanaweza kutumia huduma za kibenki kwa faida yao na uchumi wa Taifa kwa jumla.

 

Benki ya Mkombozi ilianzishwa na Kanisa Katoliki na sasa inamilikiwa na wananchi, kwa mtindo wa kununua hisa, bila kujali imani za dini wala kabila.

  • Utangulizi

Taarifa hii inatolewa kwa umma kutokana na ripoti mbalimbali zilizotolewa na baadhi ya vyombo vya habari mitandao ya kijamii na taarifa iliyotolewa kwenye mjadala katika Bunge la Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania.

 

  • Ufunguzi wa akaunti ya VIP engineering and Marketing (VIP)

Kampuni ya VIP engineering and Marketing ni kampuni ambayo imesajiliwa kwa mujibu wa sheria za Tanzania. Kampuni hii ilifungua akaunti katika benki ya biashara ya Mkombozi na hivyo kuwa moja kati ya wateja wa benki. Benki ilijiridhisha na ilizingatia taratibu zote za ufunguzi wa akaunti husika kwa kuzingatia sheria za nchi na kanuni zinazozitaka benki kupata nyaraka muhimu kutoka kwa mteja wakati wa ufunguzi wa akaunti hiyo. Nyaraka hizo ni pamoja na kuwepo kwa cheti cha usajili wa kampuni, kanuni za kampuni, idhinisho la kampuni kumruhusu moja kati ya wanahisa wake kuendesha akaunti pamoja na picha na hati ya kusafiria ya mhusika wa kuendesha akaunti hiyo.

2.0     Mauzo ya hisa za VIP

Kampuni ya VIP ilileta mkataba kwenye benki ya Mkombozi wa mauziano ya hisa za asilimia 30 baina ya VIP na kampuni ya Pan Africa Power Solutions (PAP) ambazo inamiliki katika kampuni ya IPTL. Mkataba huo ulisainiwa tarehe 19 Ogasti, 2013. Bei ya asilimia 30 ya hisa hizo ilikuwa ni dola za Marekani milioni 75. Katika kifungu namba 2.4 cha mkataba wao kinaelekeza fedha za mauzo ya hisa zilipwe kwenye akaunti ya VIP iliyopo benki ya Mkombozi. Mkataba huo wa mauziano ya hisa baina ya kampuni hizi mbili ulitambuliwa na hukumu ya Mahakama Kuu ya Tanzania iliyotolewa na Jaji J.H.K Utamwa tarehe 5 Septemba, 2013.

 

 

  • Mchakato wa kulipa kodi ya serikali

Benki ilitambua kwamba katika mauziano hayo ya hisa ni lazima kodi ya Serikali ilipwe na hivyo iliizishauri pande zote mbili kupeleka mkataba husika katika ofisi za Mamlaka ya Mapato Tanzania (TRA) ili kufanyiwa makadirio ya kodi husika. Tarehe 20 Januari, 2014 TRA iliiandikia barua kampuni ya VIP na nakala ya barua hiyo kuletwa kwenye benki ya Mkombozi. Katika barua hiyo TRA iliitaarifu kampuni ya VIP kuwa makadirio ya kodi yatokanayo na mauzo ya hisa ni shilingi 38,186,584,322.00 ikiwa ni kodi ya mauzo ya hisa ya asilimia 30 za mauzo ya hisa kutoka VIP kwenda kwa PAP.(Capital gains and stamp duty). TRA pia iliiagiza benki ya Mkombozi kuhakikisha kuwa inalipa kodi hiyo kwa niaba ya VIP mara tu fedha zitakapoingia kwenye akaunti yake.

 

Malipo ya kodi ya shilingi 38,186,584,322.00 yalilipwa TRA kwenye akaunti 11120100 iliyopo katika Benki Kuu ya Tanzania na TRA ilikiri kupokea kodi hiyo kwa barua yake yenye kumbukumbu namba 3-4/100/100/223/4 ya tarehe 24 Januari, 2014.

 

  • Ufafanuzi wa mambo mbalimbali

4.1      Benki ya mkombozi kuhusika katika kusafisha fedha chafu

Fedha zote zilizoingizwa kwenye akaunti ya VIP iliyopo kwenye benki ya Mkombozi zilitokana na mauziano ya hisa kati ya VIP na PAP kwa mkataba uliotambuliwa na Mahakama Kuu ya Tanzania. Chanzo cha malipo hayo ni kuhamisha fedha kutoka kwenye akaunti ya PAP iliyopo katika benki ya Stanbic na kuingizwa kwenye akaunti ya VIP iliyopo katika benki ya Mkombozi. Fedha hizo zilihamishwa katika mafungu mawili. Fungu la kwanza ilikuwa ni shilingi 73,573,500,000.00 zilihamishwa kwa njia ya TISS kwa kumbukumbu namba 000000050720 ya tarehe 23 Januari, 2014 na fungu la pili ni dola za Kimarekani 22,000,000.00 zilihamishwa kwa TISS kwa kumbukumbu namba 000000050812 ya tarehe 23 Januari, 2014. Malipo mengine ya asilimia kumi ya mauzo ya hisa yalilipwa kwenye akaunti ya Mkombozi iliyopo Benki Kuu ya Tanzania. Kutokana na mchakato huo benki ya Mkombozi ilijiridhisha kuwa fedha hizo ni malipo halali na siyo fedha chafu. Benki ya Mkombozi haijihusishi na utakasishaji wa fedha chafu na haramu katika uchumi wa Tanzania.

 

 

 

4.2      Malipo yatokanayo na akaunti ya VIP

Malipo toka kwenye akaunti ya mteja hufanywa kutokana na maelekezo ya mteja. Benki ikishajiridhisha kuwa fedha ya mteja ni halali na ipo kwa mujibu wa sheria na hamna zuio lolote toka katika mahakama hapa nchini hutekeleza malipo kwenye akaunti ya mteja kutokana na maelekezo yake. Benki ilijiridhisha kuwa malipo yote yaliyofanywa kutoka kwenye akaunti ya VIP ni halali kwa kuwa chanzo cha pesa hizo ilikuwa ni halali kutokana na mauzo ya hisa na ulipwaji wa kodi ya Serikali kama ilinyoelezwa hapo juu. Kutokana na sababu hiyo benki haikuwa na shaka juu ya malipo hayo.

 

4.3      Malipo taslimu kwa wateja na kubeba fedha kwenye viroba, mifuko ya rambo na magunia

Benki inatoa tamko kuwa malipo yote yaliyofanywa katika akaunti ya VIP yalilipwa kupitia akaunti za walipwaji. Hakuna fedha zilizolipwa taslimu kwa wateja na kubebwa kwenye viroba au magunia kama ilivyoripotiwa Bungeni. Pesa iliyotoka kwenye akaunti ya VIP tarehe 6 Februari, 2014 kiasi cha shilingi 3,314,850,000.00 ililipwa kwenye akaunti nane za wateja tofauti na siyo kubebwa kwenye viroba au magunia. Na zile zilizotoka toka benki ya Stanbic zilizotajwa hapo juu zilitumwa kwa njia ya TISS na siyo kubeba kwenye magunia au viroba.

4.4      Malipo kwa mfanyakazi wa benki ya Mkombozi

Gazeti la Mawio la tarehe 20-26, Novemba, 2014 tolea namba 0122 liliandika kuwa mwanasheria wa benki ya Mkombozi ajulikanaye kwa jina la Rweyengeza Alfred alipokea malipo toka akaunti ya VIP ya shilingi milioni 40.2. Benki inatoa tamko kuwa haina mfanyakazi anayetambuliwa kwa jina hilo na wala hakuna mfanyakazi yeyote wa benki aliyelipwa fedha toka kwenye akaunti ya VIP.

  • Wito kwa umma

Benki ya Mkombozi inachukua fursa hii kuwatarifu wateja wake na umma kutopotoshwa na taarifa au tuhumma zilizofafanuliwa hapo juu na kuwataka wateja wake wote kutokuwa na hofu yeyote kwani benki ipo imara na inafanya kazi kwa kufuata misingi ya sheria, taratibu na kanuni zilizowekwa na Benki Kuu ya Tanzania. Benki inawataarifu wateja wake na Watanzania kwa ujumla kutoyumbishwa na tuhumma hizo ambazo hazina ukweli ndani yake na badala yake waitumie benki yao kwa shughuli za maendeleo ya nchi yetu. Pamoja tunajenga nchi na uchumi wa nchi yetu.

 

  • Hitimisho

Benki ya biashara ya Mkombozi haijihusishi na haitajihusisha na utakasishaji wa fedha chafu.

Ndugu Waandishi wa Habari,tumekuombeni mjumuike nasi siku ya leo ili kupitia ninyi, tuwafahamishe watanzania kuhusu mauzo ya awali ya hisa za benki yetu ya Mkombozi.Pamoja na kuwafahamisha lakini pia tutumie fursa hii kuwaomba watanzania washiriki katika ununuzi wa hisa za Benki ya Mkombozi.

 

Mauzo ya awali ya hisa husimamiwa na Mamlaka ya Masoko na Mitaji (CMSA) na Mamlaka imekwishatoa idhini kwa Benki ya Mkombozi kukamilisha hatua hii ya uuzaji hisa za Benki kwa wananchi (IPO).

 

Zoezi hili litaanza Jumatatu tarehe 3 Novemba,2014 na kuishia Jumamosi,tarehe 29 Novemba,2014.Jumla ya hisa 5,000,000 zitauzwa kwa bei ya shilingi 1,000 kwa kila hisa.Hisa zitauzwa kupitia kwa madalali wote wa hisa,matawi yote ya benki ya Mkombozi na matawi yote ya benki ya CRDB.

 

Kuzinduliwa kwa mauzo haya (IPO) kunatoa nafasi kwa watanzania wote kuwekeza katika Benki ya Mkombozi ambayo inakua kwa kasi.

UTENDAJI WA BENKI TOKA IANZE (BANK PERFORMANCE)

 

Benki ya Mkombozi ilifungua milango kwa ajili ya kufanya biashara mnamo tarehe 28 Agosti 2009 ikiwa na tawi moja ambalo ni St. Joseph.Tangu kuanza kwake,Benki imekuwa ikifanya kazi kwa ufanisi na katika mwaka wake wa tatu (2011) Benki iliweza kupata faida.

 

Kutokana na kuridhishwa na utendaji wa Benki ya Mkombozi,Benki Kuu ya Tanzania iliweza kutoa idhini ya kufunguliwa matawi mengine matatu katika mwaka 2012.Matawi yaliyofunguliwa ni tawi la Mwanza, Msimbazi na Kariakoo.

 

Katika mwaka wa fedha ulioishia Desemba 2013,benki ilipata faida ya shilingi 119.02 milioni.Katika mwaka huu wa 2014,benki inaendelea kukua kwa kasi kubwa.Kwenye robo ya kwanza ya mwaka 2014 benki ilipata faida ya shilingi milioni 565.Hadi kufikia tarehe 30 Septemba benki imerekodi faida ya shilingi bilioni 1.04.

 

Kulingana na makisio yalipo katika Mpango wa Maendeleo wa Benki (Corporate Plan) kwa sasa,mtaji wa benki utafikia shilingi bilioni 21.94 tarehe 31 Desemba 2014, shilingi bilioni 24.95 tarehe 31 Desemba 2015 na shilingi bilioni 29.40 tarehe 31 Desemba 2014.

SABABU ZA UUZAJI WA HISA (IPO)

 

Kutokana na ukuaji huu wa kasi wa Benki,tumeona ni vema tupanue wigo wa umiliki wa benki na hivyo kufanya watanzania wengi zaidi wanufaike na ukuaji huu.Hivyo uuzaji huu wa hisa kupitia IPO:

 

  • Utatoa nafasi kwa Benki ya Mkombozi kukua zaidi na hivyo kuzidi kunufaisha wamiliki/wanahisa wake
  • Utawezesha Benki kufikia na kuvuka kiwango cha chini cha Mtaji (minimum capital requirement) kilichowekwa na Benki kuu ya Tanzania

Kulingana na miongozo ya Benki kuu,kiwango cha chini cha mitaji (minimum capital requirement ) kitaongezeka hadi kufikia shilingi bilioni 15 kuanzia Machi,2015.Hata hivyo,hadi kufikia tarehe 30 Septemba 2014 tayari mtaji(Paid Up Capital) wetu ulifikia shilingi bilioni 16.84.

 

MATARAJIO YA BAADAYE

 

Benki ya Mkombozi itaweka mkazo kwenye maeneo muhimu ili kuongeza mapato ya benki na kufanya Benki iendelee kukua kwa kasi.Maeneo ambayo benki itatilia mkazo ni yale yatakayoongeza mapato,mali za Benki pamoja na wigo wa soko (market share) Maeneo haya ni pamoja na:

 

  • Uboreshaji wa huduma kwa kuzingatia matumizi ya teknolojia
  • Kuanzisha huduma ya uwakala wa benki (agency banking) na uanzishwaji wa matawi (pale inapolazimu) ili kusogeza huduma karibu zaidi na wateja
  • Kuongesa deposits
  • Kuongeza kasi ya utoaji wa mikopo ya wajasiriamali,mikopo ya makampuni,mikopo ya wafanyakazi, kuongeza ufunguaji wa akaunti

 

MWISHO

Nachukua nafasi hii kuwaomba Watanzania wenzangu kuchangamkia fursa hii kwa kununua hisa katika Benki yetu ya Mkombozi tena kwa bei ya chini kabisa (Shilingi 1000 tu).Naomba nisisitize pia kwamba muda uliotolewa na Mamlaka ni mfupi na ni muhimu tukazingatia hili ili tusipoteze fursa iliyopo mbele yetu.

Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc has opened three branches, two in Dar es Salaam region (Kariakoo branch and Msimbazi branch), and the third branch has been opened in Mwanza region opposite BOT. This is   in an effort aimed at taking affordable financial services to people in Tanzania.

Archbishop Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa’ichi OFM Cap of the Archdiocese of Mwanza, officiated  the opening of  Mwanza  branch on 6thFebruary 2012, while  Auxiliary Bishop of Dar es Salaam Eusebius Nzigilwa inaugurated  the launch of   Msimbazi  branch on May 7, 2012.

Bishop Severine Niwemugizi, VP of Rulenge inaugurated the launch of Kariakoo branch on on 3rd September 2012.

The opening of Mwanza, Kariakoo and Msimbazi branches bring the total number of Mkombozi Bank’s branches to 4 in Tanzania. The new branches will offer mainstream banking products and services including; micro business loans, salaried loans, agricultural loans and Mkombozi Bank Plus service among others.

Edwina A. Lupembe, the Managing Director, Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc noted that extending affordable financial services to the unbanked population is at the core of the bank’s business. “This is because of the role of financial inclusion in accelerating economic development, affording the majority of the population opportunities to safely save their incomes, affordably borrow for investments and sustainably enhance personal, business and household incomes.”

Mrs Lupembe further added that; “Financial inclusion is critical to achieve inclusive growth and it is a prerequisite for sustainable economic growth and development.
