MKOMBOZI COMMERCIAL BANK Plc OPENS THREE BRANCHES; TWO IN DAR ES SALAAM AND ONE BRANCH IN MWANZA REGION DURING 2012 FINANCIAL YEAR.
Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc has opened three branches, two in Dar es Salaam region (Kariakoo branch and Msimbazi branch), and the third branch has been opened in Mwanza region opposite BOT. This is in an effort aimed at taking affordable financial services to people in Tanzania.
Archbishop Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa’ichi OFM Cap of the Archdiocese of Mwanza, officiated the opening of Mwanza branch on 6thFebruary 2012, while Auxiliary Bishop of Dar es Salaam Eusebius Nzigilwa inaugurated the launch of Msimbazi branch on May 7, 2012.
Bishop Severine Niwemugizi, VP of Rulenge inaugurated the launch of Kariakoo branch on on 3rd September 2012.
The opening of Mwanza, Kariakoo and Msimbazi branches bring the total number of Mkombozi Bank’s branches to 4 in Tanzania. The new branches will offer mainstream banking products and services including; micro business loans, salaried loans, agricultural loans and Mkombozi Bank Plus service among others.
Edwina A. Lupembe, the Managing Director, Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc noted that extending affordable financial services to the unbanked population is at the core of the bank’s business. “This is because of the role of financial inclusion in accelerating economic development, affording the majority of the population opportunities to safely save their incomes, affordably borrow for investments and sustainably enhance personal, business and household incomes.”
Mrs Lupembe further added that; “Financial inclusion is critical to achieve inclusive growth and it is a prerequisite for sustainable economic growth and development. That is why Mkombozi Commercial Bank is pursuing both the brick and mortar approach but also harnessing the powers of technology to ensure we affordably integrate the unbanked population into the financial mainstream.”
Mrs Lupembe urged the bankable population in the regions to open accounts at the new branches to enjoy Mkombozi Commercial Bank’s affordable products and services.
She affirmed strong commitment to uplifting all Tanzanians especially those in remote places which is in line with the bank’s mission of becoming a leading bank in addressing the growth needs of small and medium size enterprises through delivery of high quality and integrity banking services to a wide micro customer base and corporate enterprises.
